New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah’s sizzling bowling display aided India confine Afghanistan to 272/8 on a prime batting surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.

The Indian pace leader delivered his supreme World Cup bowling performance to conclude with statistics of 10-0-39-4. Hardik Pandya seized two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav (1/40) proved challenging to score against once again. However, Mohammed Siraj, who is being favoured over the more seasoned Mohammed Shami, leaked runs (0/76 in 9 overs) and failed to secure a wicket.

Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi recorded the highest score with 80, and Azmatullah Omarzai notched 62 for Afghanistan.
