Ahmedabad: At the beginning of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 One Day International match against Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Indian player Virat Kohli unintentionally entered the field wearing the incorrect shirt.

While Kohli’s shirt simply had a white stripe on the shoulders, other Indian players wore official World Cup jerseys with the tricolour stripe of their country’s flag.

Kohli took a few minutes off the field after realising his error and came back wearing the proper jersey.

On social media, there was some discussion about the incident as several fans questioned how Kohli could have made such a blunder. Some were more understanding, claiming that it was merely a mistake made by a human.

One of the most watched events on the cricket calendar is the match between India and Pakistan, featuring one of the game’s most successful and well-liked players in the world, Virat Kohli. Given the amount of hype and expectation surrounding the game, it makes sense that Kohli might have made an error in the heat of the moment.

The incident had little bearing on the actual game, which India went on to win handily. Kohli will probably try to steer clear of it going forward, though.
